Gates also said the United States on the issue of assistance to Afghanistan to the South Korean government has not made any concrete proposals. The South Korean government when and on what level of support, will be entirely by the South Korean government to decide.
With regard to the transfer of wartime operational command to South Korea over the issue, Gates said that at present the work progress was satisfactory, I believe the agreement will be the date April 17, 2012 to conduct the transfer. He also said that, as allies, the United States will continue after the transfer of operational command of the Joint defense commitments.
